When The Truth Goes Against Popular Opinion

When The Truth Goes Against Popular Opinion

Is it wrong to want to be in alignment with the popular opinion? Is it wrong to wish that for once your life will go with the gradient as opposed to against? I was watching a video of someone talking about why they created their product and her answer, which is the same answer I have heard many people give was that she couldn’t find what she was looking for in all the other products, so she decided to create hers. I found it amazing that almost everyone I hear when asked why they created their products almost always had the same answer - “I couldn’t find anything like it on the market.” I wish I could say like other people that I created my 2026 planner because I couldn’t really find what I was looking for, but that wouldn’t be true. The truth is that there are so many beautifully designed planners and journals out there that are very nice and that I’ve used in the past.

In fact, when God asked me to start my stationery brand, BelleVieStationery.com, where I design and create faith-centered planners, journals, and other accessories, that will help women keep God priority and not compromise their faith, overcome disorder, and gain clarity and confidence as they pursue their passion, purpose, and dreams, I was actually sad, and I’ll tell you why.

I was sad because to me that meant that I wouldn’t freely get to use other brand’s planners and journals, plus what would happen to the collection I already have stacked away on my shelves? Quick context - I love paper products and other stationery accessories, every time I go to the store, I’m more than likely to come home with an item - a new journal or sticky notes or pens. So, I was sad because I felt like I’d now be limited to just my products. Because after all you are supposed to be a walking billboard for your own brand, right?

But I also wanted to obey God, I knew I had to obey, so I did. And guess what, at the start of it, He didn’t even tell me how to design it or what to put on the inside. It was later on that He showed me the cover design in a vision. But I forged ahead anyway and just trusted that things would unfold as I went.

Friend, what has God placed in your heart to do that you still haven’t taken a step towards? Are you waiting to have everything fall into its perfect place first? Are you still waiting to have everything in place before you move? This is the time! Now is the time to move! Take that step! Stop waiting for the perfect time because there is no such thing.

Another thing that wasn’t true in my case - popular opinion says you must know your niche and target audience before you start, but friends, I knew none of that. All I knew was that God wanted me to start a stationery brand. Remember when God called Abram and told him to leave his kindred and go to a place He will show him. Abram didn’t know where that place was because God didn’t show him initially, but the bible says the next day, Abram got up and left. It was in his going that God began to unfold everything to him. Also remember the wedding in Cana where Jesus performed His first public miracle. It was when the servants were on their way in obedience to give the water to the Master of Ceremony that the water turned into wine. So, God said to me, “Enna, as you take a step toward obedience, I’ll bless it.” So, friends, I took the steps and have been taking steps ever since. It’s your turn to take that step and watch God begin to unfold the dream to you.

So, no I did not have the full picture before I stepped out, neither did I have any of the resources, except for my dream (actual dream of the night) and my creative abilities before I stepped out. I didn’t have the full faith before I stepped out. In fact, I had to borrow some of my mentor’s faith to help me get started. So, if you have to borrow my faith, here it is. I believe that you have in you the capacity to do the things God has placed in your heart. I believe you have everything you need waiting for you on the other side of your obedience. I believe that as you take a step of obedience, God will bless it. It is your time! It is your season! Now, step out in faith.
